On day 84 of my 366-day self-care challenge, I carved out some time for celebrating.
To celebrate the beginning of the last year of my 30’s, my husband planned quite the elaborate birthday celebration. We spent a long weekend in Santa Monica and attended the David Gilmour show at the Hollywood Bowl.
It was great to spend some time together, away from the bustle of chores and daily routines.
Celebrating the good things in life is an exercise in self-care. It gives us the opportunity to be grateful for our blessings – and in the case of birthdays, the gift of being alive.
Whether your celebration involves a local gathering of friends or a distant destination, remember that it’s a grateful heart that brings us the greatest happiness.
