Every day of the 2016 leap year — for 366 days straight — I challenged myself to explore a new self-care activity. Why? Because our health is what enables us to be in service to others and make a meaningful contribution to the world. This challenge gave me an opportunity to experiment with and explore a number of self-care activities to determine what truly nourishes and strengthens me. Each of the activities I chose fell within one or more of the 8 Dimensions of Self-Care: Systemic, Emotive, Luminescent, Financial, Cognitive, Aptitudinal, Relational, and Environmental.
