On day 223 of my 366-day self-care challenge, I explored getting a manicure as an act of self-care.
Self-care isn’t relegated to indulging in spa treatments, but yesterday that’s exactly what it was about for me.
Having spent several days in the high desert, my skin had turned into a prehistoric reptilian creature, and it had reached a point where no amount of lotion was going to bring it back to life. In addition to rehydrating myself, I was going to need some professional help, in the way of a manicure and paraffin wax.
While this wasn’t a life-changing act of self-care by any means, it was a simple act of kindness that made me feel cared for. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.
