Visiting California’s wine country has been at the top of my bucket list for quite some time. And while I don’t consider myself a wine expert by any means, I know what I like, which is really the only thing that matters.
If you’ve ever been to the area, or even considered visiting, then you know how vast the area truly is, and how difficult it can be to choose just a handful of destinations.
Our first stop in Napa was Domaine Carneros, a 138-acre winery that specializes in sparkling varieties. Suffice it to say that after a long morning of travel, a flight of sparkling wines and a spread of cheese and dried fruit felt like heaven. Sitting on the terrace of the chateau overlooking the expansive vineyards wasn’t a bad way to begin our vacation either.
Bubbles always seem to make special occasions feel even more special.
And traveling away from Seattle’s cold and rainy weather to California’s warm, arid climate was a quite a treat as well.
Yes, sipping bubbles was definitely a demonstration of self-care.
