July Self-Care Activities

Try these July self-care activities to get yourself back on track with your goals:

1. Conduct a Mid-Year Assessment

July is a good time to pause and assess how things are going with the goals you set back at the beginning of the year. The mid-year solo retreat workbook is a great way to reflect on how far you’ve come and how far you still have to go. You might discover that your goals need a little tweaking. Or you also may also discover that your goals just aren’t the right goals. Conducting a mid-year review can help rekindle your motivation so you can keep moving forward.

2. Upgrade Your Skin Care Routine

Protecting your skin from the sun’s damaging UV rays is critical for your skin’s health, especially in the summer months. Do you have a good exfoliant, moisturizer, and cleanser as part of your skin care routine? If it’s been a while since you’ve seen a dermatologist, consider scheduling an appointment to evaluate your skin. A skincare makeover could be a great addition to your self-care activities for July.

3. Get Some Nature Therapy

Spending time in nature can help you manage stress and put life’s challenges into perspective. Taking a periodic break from life’s busyness creates space to consider new possibilities for your life. Being in nature can help you return to your body’s natural rhythms. Consider adding an outdoor adventure or picnic to your list of self-care activities for July.

4. Give Your Fitness Routine a Makeover

Are you bored with your current workouts? Maybe your fitness routine needs a makeover. Look for ways to change up your exercise routine by adjusting the type, frequency, duration, or timing of your workouts. Even the smallest changes can renew your motivation and keep you on track with your goals.

5. See a Registered Dietitian

If healthy eating is one of your health goals for the year it might be time to seek help from an expert, especially if you’re not seeing results you were hoping for. Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) have specialized nutrition knowledge to help you create a customized eating plan. Find a registered dietitian on the eatright.org website here.

6. Edit Your Inner Circle

Are you spending time with people who share your goals and values? Or are they pulling you away from what matters most? If your inner circle is getting in the way of achieving your goals, it may be time to make some changes to your social circles and routines. Honor your boundaries and reconsider how you’re spending your time, as well as who you’re spending it with.

Create Your July Self-Care List

Think about the month ahead and carve out a few minutes to jot down some new self-care activities for July. Sprucing up your routine each month can help you stay motivated and on track with your goals.
