March Self-Care Activities for When You Need a Lifestyle Makeover

March marks the official start of spring! Does your springtime self-care routine need a makeover? Here’s a list of March self-care activities to consider adding to this month’s rotation.

March Self-Care

Here are 6 March self-care activities to explore this month:

1. Change Your Air Filters

How often do you change the cabin air filters in your car? Or how about the ones in your home? If you battle seasonal allergies or have a respiratory condition, it’s probably a good idea to create a schedule to change your air filters on a regular basis.

2. Schedule Your Tax Preparation

Waiting until the last minute to prepare your taxes can be a recipe for unnecessary stress. Getting your documents in order can save time and help ensure you file an accurate return. As the tax return deadline approaches, many CPAs don’t take new clients, so it’s a good idea to schedule an appointment early.

3. Start Spring Cleaning

May is also a great time to get a head start on spring cleaning. If you’re looking for new May self-care activities, tackle organizing the garage or a spare room and begin sorting, donating, and tidying up. Remember to find a safe disposal location for items like Styrofoam, batteries, fluorescent lights and expired medications.

4. Create an Emergency Menu

There are many reasons to have emergency food supplies on hand. Inclement weather conditions, such as hurricanes and blizzards, can make it challenging to get to the grocery store. Likewise, flu season can linger into April and May, which means having a 3- to 7-day supply of non-perishable foods and sick day supplies is essential.

5. Prepare for Sunshine

March is also a great time to start planning your summer activities, especially if your spring break plans include travel to a sunny destination. Make sure you have sufficient supplies of sunscreen, hats and SPF clothing to protect your skin from the sun’s harsh rays.

6. Update Your Fitness Plan

Is your fitness motivation waning from what it was at the beginning of the year? Maybe your workouts need a makeover. Varying your fitness routine regularly can help you maintain motivation and keep you moving toward your goals.

Create Your March Self-Care List

Think about the month ahead and carve out a few minutes to schedule your March self-care activities in advance.
