Self-Care Challenge (Day 200): Using a Sugar Scrub

In celebration of the 200th day of my self-care challenge, I indulged in a sugar scrub.

After a weekend of wearing flip flops in the desert-like climate of Eastern Washington, my feet definitely needed some love. The dusty, gravel road at the campsite only made things worse.

I’ve been using a fantastic foot cream at night for several weeks, which has helped a lot, but this was an added bonus. Sugar scrubs serve as both a cleanser and exfoliator, removing dead skin cells and leaving skin feeling smooth and soft.

Physical benefits aside, the scrub smells quite lovely too. The scent of coconut and lime fills my bathroom every time I use it. It’s like going to the beach without leaving home.

A friend once gave me a homemade vanilla sugar scrub as a gift, and it was one of the most delightful things I’ve ever received. Self-care doesn’t have to be extravagant; sometimes the littlest things we do for ourselves that feel the most indulgent.
