Self-Care Challenge (Day 231): Enjoying a Summer Mocktail

garden mocktail

Remember Shirley Temples? Those red, fizzy drinks with lots of cherries that you probably had as a kid? My guess is that you’ve moved on since then to other forms of adult beverages, but perhaps you haven’t considered the fact that happy hour doesn’t always have to include alcohol.

Whether you’re focused on reducing excess calories to manage your weight, improving the quality of nutrients that you’re putting into your body, or removing alcohol for other health reasons, mocktails can be a great alternative to summer cocktails.

Start with a base of ice, soda water, ginger ale, sparkling water (or flat water) and then start adding splashes of this and that: fruit juice, tea, fresh fruit or herbs from your garden. Then, garnish as desired and enjoy!

You’re welcome.
